Norton 360 free trial 90 days Free Download Full Version. Just vista a giveaway page and follow some steps to get Norton 360 Free Trial 180 Days free!

I installed the norton 360 90 day trial and now the 90 days is up. I don't want to subscribe, but I'm planning on eventually buying norton 360 at a store and then installing it. I'm not sure what to do, since I'm not used to this sort of thing, and I'm afraid to try to uninstall it, since so many people say it never fully uninstalls. I have some files backed up as well, and want to now if those files will disappearduring uninstallation. The other files that don't have the green 'check' mark are grey with the 'slash'. Will those delete too, if at all?

I have really important files on my computer that I don't wanna lose. I have a windows vista home premium laptop. I also want to know if you can uninstall the free trial (90 day) and then buy a store bought version and install that? Or will the NRT leave enough norton on the computer that you can't? I really need help.

Thanks!:) P.S: I posted an old thread, but no one replied and now it is locked. Could you guys maybe specify about the Synamatec Liveupdate as well as where the product key for the new product is being plugged in. I don't want to mess up on this.

Also, if I leave the trial version on while I'm installing the new product, will there be a clash or a 'Norton 360 is already detected on this computer' notice? I need steps on how to do this.

I need steps on how to do this. Link to my old thread. Hi sweettea, I see that two other posters already answered your original thread, which is now locked, so I have asked a moderator to merge the threads. About your issue: Which version of Norton 360 have you got installed? In order to find this out, please open Norton 360, go to 'Help & Support', and then to 'About'. The latest version of Norton 360 is currently Norton 360 version 3.5.

If you have got Norton 360 version 3.0, run LiveUpdate until you are offered version 3.5. Now, about turning your trial version into a fully functional version. When you buy Norton 360 at a store (a boxed) version, you will find the product key, which you will need to activate Norton 360 and turn it into a full version, on the CD sleeve. And that is all you need - you don't need the CD. When your trial version has expired, it will tell you that it has expired and give you an option, via the interface, to type in your product key. Please do so, and you will have a full version of Norton 360.

Also, it is strongly recommended that you sign up for a Norton account. Your Norton account saves your product and account information (e.g. Number of subscription days remaining, number of activations remaining, product key etc.). Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 11:00 AM. You have the latest version of Norton 360. When you buy your packaged version of Norton 360, simply type in the product key, which you will find on the CD sleeve, into the trial version. No need to install anything - all you have to do is type in the product key.

I just read your second post; you say that you think you have got a virus. Is your computer displaying strange behaviour? Please do the following: download the free version of Malwarebytes from over here: Install Malwarebytes, launch the program and go to 'Update'; click on 'Check for Updates' and let it download the definition files. Then, go to 'Scanner' and have it run a full scan.

Malwarebytes will generate a log; save the log and post it over here (attach it to your post by using the 'Add Attachments' feature underneath the orange post button). Sweettea wrote: Also, I have a Norton Account. The account says version 3.0, but the other says 3.5.2.11. Becuase there are two different numbers, which one do I buy? Anyway, I don't get the thing about not needing the CD. I have to install the CD, right? I buy the CD and then type in the product key, but where? And if I don't need the CD, why buy it in the first place? Message Edited by sweettea on 01:25 AM Hi sweettea, Once you have activated your trial version with your new product key, Norton 360 will connect to your Norton account, which should then pick up the updated information.

About the CD: Quite often, customers who want to renew their Norton product and find out that purchasing the whole boxed version is actually cheaper than renewing only their subscription, buy the boxed version and only use the product key. They don't bother about the CD. The only thing which is required is the product key, which they type into their Norton product already installed on their machines.it's that straightforward;-) Also, you may want to read a very helpful post by Tony Weiss at the link below: Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 10:31 AM. Just to clarify, which Norton product is the latest version ( the one that I have)? Do I have 3.0 or 3.5?

I followed this link to help base my decison: Also, with the download, is it safe and if it is, will it clash with my current antivirus, noting that I've also downloaded the windows malicious software removal tool? My computer probably has a virus, because as I was watching a video on a site I shouldn't have been watching videos on (You get the picture), and suddenly, the video stopped and it said something about an error. Afterwards, I got tired and closed the window th vid was in. When I returned to my screen, the taskbar was flashy and my four icons: ie, desktop button, windows media player, and switch between windows button was in the wrong place, sort of pushed into the corner of the taskbar. My open internet explorer pages (usually listed at the bottom of the taskbar) went white and blue and I couldn't press the start button. I don't know what kind of virus it is, but I do know that it has to be a virus. Now, whenever I open internet or surf the web, a box comes up (supposedly from my internet safety thing) asking me if I want to allow the google toolbar or the adobe shock/ flashplayer.

When I press don't allow and check 'don't show me this warning again', it still pops up. Hi sweettea, If the Norton product installed on your computer says that it is version 3.5.2.11, then you have the very latest version of Norton 360. You followed the correct link to find out about your version of Norton. Once again, if you buy the boxed version of Norton 360, all you have to do is find the product key on the CD sleeve, forget about the CD, and simply type in the product key into your trial version. However, if you have got a virus/malware on your computer, Norton 360 might not work properly; I will have to leave this in the hands of some of my fellow-gurus who are experts in the domain of malware - which I am not even remotely:-) But for starters, please download the free version of Malwarebytes as I have indicated above. It will not clash with Norton 360 because it does not have real-time protection; in other words, the free version of Malwarebytes is an on-demand scanner which will not interfere with Norton 360. I can understand that you are anxious to turn your trial version of Norton 360 into a full version as soon as possible, but I am sure you are equally anxious to see if your computer has got a virus, and, if this is the case, how to get rid of it, and this is a procedure which cannot be rushed.

Please be patient so we can ensure that you get as much support as possible over here in the forums. Due to time zone differences, and also because it's the Thanksgiving season in the States, most people are currently absent at the moment. Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 10:58 AM. I'm running the software. So far, it detected 5 infections. Does it remove those infections though? Anyway, if I want to unistall it, would I put the desktop icon in the recycle bin or just uninstall it and expect the icon to disappear?

Also, will I have to uninstall it when I put in the product key or does it not clash with Norton at all? And will you be on here tmorrow? I may need your advice again. I appreciate your help and what you've done. Hopefully, it'll work. P.S: What version of norton do I have? Once Malwarebytes has finished scanning, it will show you the items it has found.

You will have to delete them manually, Malwarebytes won't do this for you automatically. Please wait until it has finished scanning, do not interrupt the scan. Also, Malwarebytes will automatically generate a log. Please save that log and post it over here by using the 'Add Attachments' feature underneath the orange 'Post' button. I would recommend that you leave Malwarebytes installed.

It only runs when you launch it, so it will not interfere with Norton 360. I myself, as do several other posters in this forum, have the program installed alongside my Norton Internet Security 2010 - no problems at all. As for your version of Norton: if your Norton product which is installed on your machine says that it is version 3.0, then you have got 3.0. If it indicates version 3.5.2.11, then you have got version 3.5. Once again, you can check the version of your Norton on your computer by opening Norton 360, going to 'Help & Support', and then to 'About'. In the meantime, I will notify one of my fellow-Gurus of your thread since your computer is infected. Also, we have to see about running Norton 360 on an infected system - you might have to reinstall it; this is something my fellow-Gurus will be able to tell you.

For now, please let Malwarebytes finish the full scan and please post the log once it has finished the scan. Thanks for your patience:-) EDIT: I have notified one of my fellow-Gurus of the malware aspect of your issue (basically, you have got 2 problems: one is turning the trial version of Norton 360 into a full version, which I hope is clear; the other is checking your computer for infections). Due to time zone differences, it might take a few hours until said Guru is able to check out your thread. Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 11:20 AM.

Norton 360 90 Day Trial Version

Malware is often written to knock out or damage antivirus software already installed on your machine, that way it can take control over your computer. Not the best security software in the whole universe is going to be of use if you do not maintain safe surfing habits and are not cautious about what you click on and what you download. Depending on what kind of malware you have picked up, your Norton 360 might have been damaged. Once you have posted your log, a trained eye will be able to tell you more and give you further instructions.

Please hang on in there;-) And yes, if your 'About' thing, as you call it, says that you have got version 3.5.2.11, then you have got version 3.5. Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 11:28 AM. Hi sweettea, No problem: as I said, it is never a good idea to rush with these things - especially if you have got an infected computer. We need time to get to the bottom of this matter and give you instructions to ensure that you end up with a clean computer and a smoothly running Norton 360. When Malwarebytes has finished the scan, it will automatically generate a log in a Notepad file, which will pop up on your screen after the scan. On this window of the Notepad file, please go to 'File', then to 'Save as'; type in a name, save the file to, for instance, your desktop, then post it over here. To delete what Malwarebytes has found, click on “Show Results” after scanning has finished.

Ensure that the threats picked up by Malwarebytes are marked with a tick, then click on 'Remove Selected'. I have clicked on your forum name and cannot see your e-mail address (you can change the settings for who can view your e-mail address by going to 'My Profile' when logged in, and then to 'Preferences'. Under 'Preferences', scroll down to 'E-mail Privacy', and you can set your preferences under that option).

Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 11:54 AM. Hi sweettea, As you mentioned to me in your PM., you have deleted all the objects Malwarebytes found. You are now, as delphinium said, ready to turn Norton 360 trial version into a full version by typing the product key you will on the CD sleeve of the packaged version. Please do not PM me or others with concerns relating to the issue(s) in your thread.

Please continue posting updates/questions to your thread, and not by PM. Thanks for your understanding. Message Edited by YasoKuuhl on 10:50 PM.
