Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 is the collaboration platform at the core of Microsoft’s application lifecycle management solution that helps enable teams to reduce risk, streamline interactions and eliminate waste throughout the software delivery process. Visual Studio Team System - set of tools from Microsoft to develop software applications that facilitate collaboration on projects, tools for testing and debugging of developed programs, as well as create reports. Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) uses Team Foundation Server (TFS) as a data storage and server infrastructure to collaborate on projects. TFS provides a repository of control code, control of work items and service reporting. TFS is based on the concept of 'work item', which is a separate unit of work that requires execution. By themselves, the elements may be several different types, such as error, problem, demand quality, script, etc. The selected framework of TFS for a specific project defines what types of work items will be available and what they will have attributes.
What’s new in Visual Studio 2017. Together with Visual Studio Team Services and Team Foundation Server, seamlessly deliver software to any targeted platform. Upgrade to Team Foundation Server when your team has grown beyond five team members and take your full history with you.
TFS source control system stores all the code, as well as a record of all changes and current harvesting code (check-outs) in the database SQL Server. It supports features such as simultaneous multiple lock code to change (multiple simultaneous check-outs) (ie the same file at a time can edit a few people), the resolution of conflicts, the branching and merging, as well as the ability to set security levels at every level of the source code. TFS uses the SQL Server Reporting Services to create reports, including the number of code changes for a specified period of time, a list of bugs that have not undergone testing, repetition of previously passed tests, etc. These reports can be presented in various formats, including XML and PDF. TFS also incorporates a build server, which developers can use to accomplish the complete assembly of the latest versions of code available in the version control system. All assemblies are tracked TFS. Tools such as Visual Studio Code Analysis (code analysis), Test Tools (tools for testing) and the Code Coverage (code coverage) can be used to test the assembly before it is found fit.
