One of the UKs most historic airport dating back to the first world war where is was used as a front line station. After the war the aerodrome at Rochford temporary when back to farmland but was revived in 1933 when it became Britain’s first municipal airport. Southends most successful period for passengers was between 1961-1970 when it was used by Channel islands to ferry passengers and cars to the continent with the classic Carvair aircraft (Converted Dakotas).

Passenger numbers then reduced during the following years, mainly being used as a GA airfield with maintenance facilities. In 2008 the airport was purchased by the Stobart Group and the airport started a new life with a brand new terminal and aircraft parking stands. Today EasyJet and Flybe are the main airlines operating up to 30 flights a day increasing passengers numbers to over 1millions passengers a year. Perfect re-edition! Frankly speaking I was in love in EETN v1 - especially due to the beautiful approach to rwy 08. Thanks to autogen enhancements even the approach to rwy 26 looks nice now. Very nice feature is the animated tram, which can be visibile from the apron.
Next thing is night lighting, which can be switched on at any time - very useful in a bad weather condition. Everything else on Drzewiecki Design's level - very good performance, many animations incl.jetways, well-recreated city and up-to-date layout of the airport - I really don't need anything more:). A really good scenery but can be perfected in certain aspects imo: - SBGR is missing the main international terminal (the terminal is a construction site in the scenery), which makes this giant airport a hastle to find a fitting gate if your are flying a long haul flight with a big aircraft. The runways use the default Xp11 runway texture which isnt too realisitc compared to other sceneries.
I really appreciate indie development of countries like greece and others sout europe that doesn't have coverage for now by Major developer Orbx. Sadly this scenery feels rushed because 1) the way coastelines are drawn. Using taburet or Fs Global Mesh the rifts are covered often by water.
This is a very immersion breaker factor for flying in countries like greece. In the video they show only mainland greece i think for this reason. 2) They also doesn't declare the resolution of imagery and it doesn't seem so sharp to me in many place. Also support doesn't exist: i wrote a mail to the adress in product page but no response. I was expecting much more.
Welcome to London Stansted Airport, one of London's main gateways, which has expanded to rival Heathrow and Gatwick. This Scenery is the forth major version of the popular airport.
It inlcludes a new hi-reoluation base image and new buildings Stansted airport began its life in 1942 as a USAAF Base with a standard RAF triangular runway layout. In 1946 the airport officially opened as a civil aerodrome retaining many of its wartime buildings. It continued to grow with the addition of a 1968 terminal on the Western side. Stansteds most famous aircraft to land took place in 1983 when the space shuttle Enterprise touched down on top a modified 747. In the Early 1990s the construction of a new terminal, satellites and apron layout on the eastern side was under way.
This expansion has continued right up to today with the recent opening of the first part of Apron E. XPlane Version Notes: This is a conversion, some scenery elements are not able to be duplicated in the Xplane version and may look different from these screen shots. Please try Demo. Features.
